Privacy Policy
Scusi helps you find a restroom without giving up your privacy to do it. This explains what we collect, why and the choices you have.
The short version
We only collect what we need to show you nearby restrooms and keep the map honest. We don't sell your data, we don't run annoying ads and you don't need an account just to find a restroom.
What we collect
- Location: only when you allow it, and only to find restrooms near you. We use it to return nearby results and we don't sell it.
- Your contributions: if you endorse, add or confirm a spot, we store that contribution and when it happened, so the map stays current.
- Account details (optional): if you create a Court account, we store [your email and a display name, for example]. You can find a restroom without one.
- Technical data: standard information like device type and general usage, to keep the service working and to spot abuse.
How we use your information
We use it to show you nearby restrooms, to keep listings accurate and recent, to prevent spam and abuse and to improve the service. That's it.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your personal data, we don't run intrusive or data-targeted ads and we don't use fake or bot-generated ratings.
How information is shared
We share information with service providers who help us run Scusi, such as hosting and mapping partners, under confidentiality obligations and where we're required to by law. Community contributions may appear as part of the public map, but we don't publish your personal contact details alongside them.
Business verification
If you confirm information about a location through one of our verification forms, we collect the details you provide about the restroom, along with your name, role and work email, so we can confirm the information came from the business.
The restroom details may appear publicly on the Scusi listing for that location. Your name, role and email are not published, are not shown on the listing and are not sold or shared with advertisers. We keep them so we can verify the source of a change and contact you if we have a question. If you'd like your contact details removed, email hello [at] thescusi.com.
We also record when the form was opened and submitted, and a one-way hash of the IP address the submission came from, which we use to detect abuse.

Scusi combines open and public data sources with community input. See our Data & attribution page for the full list.
Your choices and rights
You control location access in your device or browser settings. You can ask us to access or delete your data by emailing hello [at] thescusi.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights [for example, under GDPR or CCPA].
Cookies and local storage
We use only the minimal cookies and local storage needed to make the app work, such as remembering your settings. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
Children
Scusi isn't directed to children under [13], and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
